How many uses or expressions with HEAD can you use? Here’s a few.

  • Head Teacher.

    The person responsible for managing a school.  “I had to go to the head teacher because I broke a window at school”.
  • Head back.

    To return from somewhere you’ve travelled to. “After trekking for five hours, we headed back home”.
  • Hot-headed.

    When someone gets angry very quickly or reacts to situations impulse impulsively. “Be careful what you say to Miguel you know he’s very hot headed”.
  • Headquarters/Head office.

    The principal office of a company. And the main regional office for a company. “Our headquarters are based in the City Centre and our head office is not far from my house”.
  • Headache.

    Alternative use…a person who or something is annoying. “Doing the housework is such a headache or Tony is such a headache”!
  • Headline.

    In a newspaper or article or on TV, the principal information in big letters. At the top of the page. “Today’s headline is the Prime Minister will resign”.
  • Header.

    To score a goal using your head. “Christian scored a goal with a fantastic header just inside the box”.
  • Heads up.

    To advise somebody in advance about something that’s going to happen. “Miguel gave me the heads up about the meeting, so I was prepared when I went in”.
  • Headway.

    To advance when you have a lot of work. “Finally, I’m making some headway on this project, but it’s taken a long time”.
  • Headphones.

    Speakers worn over the head so you can listen to sounds. “Denzle keeps telling his students to use headphones with classes online”!
